The new policy will be implemented starting July 1, 2018. According to the Korean Embassy, the new policy will be implemented due to the big increase in Korean visa applicants. "Total number of visa applicants increased from 90,000 in the year 2015 to 120,000 by the end of 2016. In the year 2017, total number of visa applicants recorded was around 160,000," the embassy said. The increase in number of visa applicants caused inconvenience to the applicants. "This increase in number of visa applicants caused the applicants to stand in hot weather outside the embassy for hours to wait in line for their turn to apply for respective visas," the embassy said. Tips For A Successful Travel Venture

Travel is surrounded by a sense of glamor. Everyone wants to see new places, meet different cultures and witness unspeakable wonders. If you plan well, you're more likely to realize your dreams. Read on for suggestions that will help make all your travel experiences enjoyable ones.

When traveling abroad, rather than doing local currency exchanges, use ATMs to make withdrawals. Banks normally get an exchange rate that is much higher than an individual would be able to get. This may save you money later on.

Don't use the public computers in your hotel or anywhere else they offer free internet while you are on vacation. Unscrupulous individuals may have installed keyloggers or other malware on them to steal your information.

Make sure you leave extra valuables at home. Having valuable items with you on a trip is just asking to have them lost or stolen.

When you plan a trip, taking a digital camera that fits your trip is a good idea. For example, if you will be camping you may want to pack additional batteries. In almost all cases, you will want a digital camera that can be turned on and focused very quickly so that you don't miss the shot.

Unfortunately, you cannot depend on an airline to see to your needs, even if your traveling involves a lengthy flight. Travel with your own blanket, pillow and entertainment if you believe that you may need them. You should also think about bringing some snacks with you.

Try signing up for travel price watcher. This will take the work out of finding deals. If your hotel price or airfare drops by a certain amount, as you decide, the site alerts you with an email about the change. This keeps you from having to check the site each day to find a good price.

When you travel abroad, find out from your credit card company what type of travel insurance you already have. For example, some credit card companies cover their customers for flights that are cancelled, but have been charged to their credit cards. Before you leave, it is worth your time researching this a bit.

Pack a raincoat that has a soft lining when packing lightly for your extended trip. You never know what the weather has in store for you. This rain coat can make you feel very comfortable during hazardous conditions or just running around your hotel room.

For your morning coffee, melt ice overnight. Rather than drinking tap water, put ice in the ice bucket and let it all melt overnight. The next morning you should be ready to brew your coffee with better tasting water.

If you will be using traveler's checks, try to cash them before heading out to go shopping or to dine. Many places abroad do readily take traveler's checks, but it can be a pain to use them as they are. Be safe because you may see that you lose money with these traveller's checks.

Take a look at the currency rates in advance. Knowing how much a dollar is worth overseas makes it easier to calculate a budget and plan a trip that won't cost too much. This will help reduce the risk of over-spending, while still ensuring you budget enough money to have a good time.

Subscribe to the e-newsletters of the major airlines. They contain discounts not found elsewhere, including last-minute fare reductions. These subscriptions are worth it, even if it means your inbox gets a little fuller.

The fun of your trip starts when you begin to plan it. Plan your vacation well, and you will enjoy it immensely. Hopefully the tips you learned here can help you create the perfect plan to make your travel dream a reality.

China partly lifts ban on group tours to South Korea, online curbs stay

November 28, 2017 / 4:19 AM / 6 months ago China partly lifts ban on group tours to South Korea, online curbs stay SEOUL/BEIJING (Reuters) - China will allow travel agencies in Beijing and Shandong to partly resume sales of group tours to South Korea, in a sign of thawing relations between the nations that have been locked in a year-long diplomatic standoff. REUTERS/Kim Hong-Ji/File Photo However, executives from tour agencies in the regions said they had been told not to include in their travel packages units of South Korean retail-to-chemicals giant Lotte Group - which provided land for the installation of a U.S.-backed anti-missile system that Beijing vehemently opposed. China had banned all group tours to the neighboring country since March in the wake of South Korea’s decision to install the U.S. Terminal High Altitude Area Defense system. Beijing worries the THAAD’s powerful radar can penetrate Chinese territory. In South Korea, a halving of inbound Chinese tourists in the first nine months of the year cost the economy $6.5 billion in lost revenue based on the average spending of Chinese visitors in 2016, official data shows. But a late October agreement between the countries to move past the dispute had boosted hopes group tours may be allowed in the near future.
